TOYOTA GIVES THE COROLLA A MODERN EDGE—WITH TAILLIGHTS TO MATCH
Toyota's flagship sedan, the Corolla, will receive another major update. As a key model in Toyota's global lineup and a direct competitor to the Hyundai Elantra, the Corolla consistently draws attention with every new generation. Digital artists' unofficial renderings of the 2026 Corolla sedan recently raised expectations among consumers.
The design shown in these renderings reflects Toyota's latest styling direction, seen in the Corolla Cross and RAV4. This suggests that Toyota is extending its unified design identity across its gasoline-powered sedans, which were developed for the brand's electrification strategy.
Refined Proportions, Strong Character Lines
The most noticeable change at the front is the redesigned headlamps. They are slim, with added volume at the lower edge for a more distinctive shape. The grille is large, but its upper and lower sections feature different detailing to avoid a flat or uniform look.
The overall silhouette has been redefined with a cleaner and more balanced shape. The roofline is lower than the current model's, and the character lines are sharper. As a result, the compact Corolla sedan appears lower and wider, approaching the stance of a midsize sedan.
