CLEETUS MCFARLAND TRADES IN HIS FORD F-150 RAPTOR FOR A RAPTOR R AND THE DIFFERENCE IS INSANE

Most people familiar with Cleetus McFarland on YouTube will know that his average day can include any combination of cool vehicle-related antics.

In this installment, there is the appearance of the Ford performance pickup flagship: the Ford F-150 Raptor R, a truck which like the Ram 1500 TRX is beguiling and scary in equal amounts depending on the way you handle it.

This video notable for the comparison it makes between two siblings from the same stable – the Raptor and the Raptor R – and difference is measurable.

It’s worth checking out the video not just for Cleetus’ inimitable and friendly presenting style but also for the wicked donuts performed by full-sized pickups.

Cleetus McFarland’s Newest Vehicle Is A Ford F-150 Raptor… Again

Cleetus McFarland is the 27-year-old gear head famous for his YouTube channel and for racing, he has considerable experience with performance vehicles but today will be a pleasant surprise.

This surprise comes as Lawrence Mitchell (his real name) returns in style from Bob Davidson Ford in Maryland with a brand-new Ford F-150 Raptor R, Ford’s flagship performance pickup.

In fact, he paid the equivalent of the ‘sticker’ price and not an inflated one which is sometimes the case with in-demand models like the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, and it was a trade in, with his F-150 Raptor ‘Ecoboost’ going towards the cost.

It might seem strange to trade in one Raptor for another, but the Raptor R’s engine gets upgraded from the not-inconsiderable 3.5-liter, 450-hp, Ecoboost V6: the Raptor R uses a 5.2-liter, supercharged V8 with 700 hp.

The Ford F-150 Raptor R’s Cost Is Worth It For The Performance

Coming in at more than $109,000 – almost the same as the C8 Chevy Corvette, the Raptor R is expensive, but we see throughout the video that the truck seems worth every penny.

Cleetus confirms that the engine is essentially the same as the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500’s 5.2-liter V8, and the interior of the Raptor R gets the approval from the team who say that it looks nicer.

Next, it’s time for off-road antics in the Raptor R on a nearby field and the video confirms its ability and steering wheel-wrenching power; it jumps and bounds with aplomb and the acceleration is unsurprisingly rapid.

Ford’s F-150 Raptor with the smaller Ecoboost engine is still fast though, and starts at around $76,000 online; which is a real difference in price of more than $33,000. But if you must have the absolute best, the Raptor gets Cleetus’ seal of approval.
