SUPPY’S GARAGE EP.1: WE’RE TURNING TWO BRAND NEW 2026 DODGE CHARGERS INTO DRIFT CARS!

We have tackled some wild builds here at Hemmings, but our latest project at Suppy’s Garage might just be the most ambitious countdown clock we’ve ever set. In Episode 1, Mike Musto lets Suppy know that he’s being dropped directly into the pressure cooker: transforming two brand-new, pre-production 2026 Dodge Chargers into competition-spec drift cars in a breakneck 60 days.

The dual-threat strategy

Dodge handed us the keys to two development Chargers, and our mission is to completely tear them down to build two distinct sliding monsters:

  • The Track Car: A sleek two-door Dodge Charger Scat Pack featuring the highly anticipated 3.0-liter twin-turbo Sixpack inline-six engine. Throwing down a baseline of 550 horsepower, the team is already planning turbo upgrades to rocket past 700 horsepower.
  • The Drift Taxi: A four-door variant designed with a wild twist—retaining all four seats. This build is all about crowd engagement, letting passengers ride shotgun for high-speed, tire-shredding lateral G-forces.

Radical modern surgery

Stripping down a factory-fresh 2026 muscle car comes with massive engineering hurdles. Because these next-gen Chargers utilize an all-wheel-drive platform, our first order of business is executing a complex two-wheel-drive conversion to route all that Hurricane power strictly to the rear wheels.

The 60-day timeline leaves zero margin for error. Episode 1 highlights the immediate structural teardowns required to fabricate custom roll cages for mandatory track safety. From there, the build sheets call for aggressive widebody kits, heavy-duty performance brakes, and robust quick-change rear ends for seamless trackside gear tuning.

Once the tire smoke clears, professional drifters Corey Hosford and Micah Diaz will take the wheel. They are slated to debut these heavy-hitting Chargers at major automotive festivals, including Roadkill Nights, Gridlife, and FuelFest.
