Honda will unveil a new electric concept car for the first time in the world at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, held from July 10 to 13 in West Sussex, United Kingdom.
This year, Honda will theme its exhibition space around Magic of the Movies. Visitors can enjoy an immersive cinematic experience of the brand's history and key technologies, presented in booths designed to evoke movie sets.
Among the cars being unveiled, the most notable is the global debut of the Super EV Concept. Developed as a compact electric vehicle in the A-segment, this model combines Honda's signature practicality with new Fun-to-Drive electric performance, positioning it as an urban EV. Honda stated that this vehicle is more than just a concept; it's part of a global production plan, suggesting potential for future mass production.
The concept car has undergone preliminary testing in the UK, wrapped in purple camouflage. It will also participate in Goodwood's iconic Hill Climb Shootout.
In addition, several key models will make their debut:
Prelude e:HEV - Set to launch in the U.S. market, this new model will feature Honda's next-generation hybrid system and the S+ Shift function for the first time.
Civic Type R Ultimate Edition - Marking the end of the front-wheel-drive hot hatch series, this model will also compete in the Hill Climb.
0 SUV Prototype - Following its initial reveal at CES 2024, this model will be on live display for the first time in Europe at this event.
Additionally, this year's festival marks the 60th anniversary of Honda's first victory in Formula 1. To celebrate, the 1986 Williams FW11 F1 car will also take part in the Hill Climb, driven by the legendary Nigel Mansell, who was the driver at that time. This car is equipped with a 1,500-horsepower RA166E V6 turbo engine.
Honda plans to showcase various concept cars and motorcycles. Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor has also announced the unveiling of its high-performance electric sedan, the IONIQ 6 N, and other brands have confirmed their participation in the event.
